Madhya Pradesh: Youth Who Abducted 17-Year-Old Girlfriend From Gwalior Shelter Home Arrested From Surat | FP Photo
Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Gwalior police, on Sunday, arrested a youth for abducting a teenage girl from a government-run shelter home in Gwalior, in the month of July. The accused had been on the run for five months, with a kidnapping case already filed against him.
In fact, a minor girl was abducted by her boyfriend and his five associates from a shelter home in Gwalior’s Kampoo area in July, 2024. Later, police registered a case of abduction against him. The accused boyfriend was finally held in Gujarat’s Surat on Sunday.
According to CSP Ashok Singh Jadon, “The main accused was caught in Gujarat, and the teenage girl has been rescued. The investigation is ongoing, and the accused is being questioned.”
The girl is now under the care of authorities, and further legal action is underway against the accused and his accomplices.
What was the case?
In July, the accused and boyfriend of the 17-year-old girl broke into the shelter home near One Stop Center in Gwalior, along with five of his friends. They managed to get the keys of the shelter home while the guard was in deep sleep.
With the keys, they unlocked the channel gates, went inside the shelter and abducted the girl.
The next day, the accused’s friends were nabbed by the police, and the accused youth was still on the run with his minor girlfriend.
During interrogation, the accused’s friends revealed that after the escape, they all headed to Morena. However, the girl and Arun couldn’t be found.
The kidnapping incident was also captured in the CCTV cameras installed in the shelter home.

After five months, the accused has been caught and is under police custody at present.
