Madhya Pradesh: Youth Held For Killing 68-Year-Old In Nagda, Woman Lived Alone | FPJ

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): In the murder case of an elderly woman named Preeti Jain, Nagda police on Saturday arrested a youth. Preeti Jain (68) lived alone in the house.

On March 24, when her brother-in-law and sister-in-law came to meet her, she was found injured on the ground floor of the house. Both of them took bleeding Preeti to hospital from where she was referred to Ujjain. The woman died during treatment on March 30.

The police suspected many people including her family. When police searched footage of around 150 CCTVs, it was found that on the day of the incident, no one went inside or came out of the elderly woman’s house. From the very first day, the police were looking at it as a case of theft.

But police had already come to know that the killer could be from nearby area. When police talked to Yashvardhan Singh (18), who lives nearby, he got scared and confessed to the murder.

On the day of the incident, Yashvardhan was exercising on the roof of his house at around 7:30 pm then his ear buds fell on the roof of the house of the elderly woman. To get them, the accused went to the roof of the deceased house. There the woman saw him and accused him of theft and threatened to send him to prison.

During this, Preeti also slapped Yashvardhan. Angry Yashvardhan took the wick lying on the roof and reached the puja room of Preeti’s house and attacked her. The wick broke into two pieces in the attack.

After attacking, Yashvardhan went back to his house through the roof. When Preeti’s sister-in-law came to meet her at night, she found Preeti bleeding. Yashvardhan stayed with Preeti’s family from the time Preeti was taken to hospital till the time of her treatment. After Preeti’s death on March 30, Yashvardhan also attended her last rites.

He was active since the incident but when the police suspected his behaviour, they made a move to confirm the matter. The police told the youth that he should take care that the killer shall be caught soon. His fingerprints have been found.
