Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 28-year-old youth fell to death from the roof of his house in Azad Nagar police station area on Sunday night. According to the police, the deceased was identified as Rajat Yadav, a resident of Babulal Nagar. The incident occurred around 9:30 pm when he accidentally slipped from the roof and fell onto the ground. His brother rushed him to a nearby private hospital where he succumbed to his injuries late at night. The police began a probe to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
Drug smuggler held with brown sugar worth Rs 1.2L
Dwarkapuri police arrested a drug smuggler and seized 12.17 grams of brown sugar worth Rs 1.20 lakh from his possession, police said on Monday. According to the police, a security checking point was installed in Dwarkapuri area on Monday. A bike rider, Nitesh Dhorat of Prajapat Nagar, attempted to flee after seeing the police. The cops chased him and nabbed him. During the search, the police found the narcotic substance in his possession. A case was registered against the accused under relevant sections of NDPS Act. He was previously booked for molestation, selling drugs and illegal liquor.
Dial-100 reunites elderly woman with family
The Dial-100 fast response vehicle (FRV) staff reunited a 65-year-old woman who got lost with her family members under the Rajendra Nagar police station limits in the wee hours of Monday. According to the police, a Dial-100 vehicle stationed in Rajendra Nagar area received information around 3:15 am that a 65-year-old woman got lost. The cops reached the spot and gathered information about her family members. Dial-100 head constable Shiv Karan and pilot Ajay Naik launched a search and traced the woman’s family members after going door-to-door. They took the woman with them and handed her over to her family members. The girl’s family members thanked the police for swift action.
Cops educate IIT students about cyber crimes
Police are actively conducting social awareness initiatives to educate the public about cyber crimes, crimes against women, and the harmful effects of drug abuse. Continuing this effort, DSP (headquarters) Umakant Chowdhary, Simrol police station in-charge Amit Kumar and their team visited IIT Indore to make students and faculty aware. The awareness programme focused on modern-day cyber crimes, including online fraud, financial scams, sextortion, and misuse of social media. The police team provided insights on how criminals operate in cyberspace and shared preventive measures, emphasising the importance of not sharing personal information online and with others.
New video conferencing room opened at police commissioner’s office
A new video conferencing room was inaugurated by commissioner of police Santosh Kumar Singh at the police commissioner’s office for better coordination between different departments. With the help of a video conferencing room, mutual coordination with senior offices and other departments will be better.
On this occasion, additional commissioner (law and order), Indore, Amit Singh; additional commissioner (crime/headquarters), Indore, Manoj Kumar Srivastava and DCP, headquarters, Ankit Soni along with other police officers were present. Additional CP Amit Singh said that the video conferencing room will help police officials to have virtual meetings with the CM office, chief secretary and other senior level meetings from the police control room.
