Mumbai: In a shocking incident, a 17-year-old teenager died by suicide after his 24-year-old boyfriend took his life. The incident happened in Maharashtra’s Palghar district on Saturday night. The girl refused to move with the guy, he hanged himself on Sunday night. Shocked by the boyfriend’s death, the girl also ended her life.
The 24-year-old guy was working with the private company. Both dated each other for a year. The guy was the resident of the Asha Nagar in Kolhi Village, Naigaon East. The 17-year-old girl was a junior college student. As per the report by Hindustan Times, the boyfriend was making a pressure to the girl to leave her parents and start a live-in relationship with him.
Speaking about the case, assistant police inspector Shailendra Patil of Naigaon police station told the media house, “Her family tried to console her, but she remained inconsolable. She felt responsible for his suicide and could not bear the guilt.”
The 17-year-old girl visited her boyfriend’s house on Saturday and argument broke out between the two, reported Hindustan Times, citing police sources. The man threatened the girl to end his life. However, after the argument, the girl left his home.
The same night, the boyfriend took the drastic step and hanged himself from an iron angle in his house with a rope. His body was discovered by a neighbour early Sunday, who informed the police.
The girl took her life in the same manner on the next day after the boyfriend died. Cops have registered a case of accidental death; both of incident and further investigation are in process by the police.
