Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Congress MLA and former Youth Congress state president Vikrant Bhuria announced plans for a massive Congress event in Mhow, with an expected attendance of two lakh people. The event aims to highlight issues facing tribal families and intensify Congress’s fight against the government.

Responding to Congress state chief Jeetu Patwari’s remark about factionalism being a ‘cancer,’ Bhuria, a doctor by profession, said, “Cancer can be treated in its early stages. Small factionalism in Congress is being resolved, and the party stands united under Patwari’s leadership.”

He criticised BJP for its internal conflicts, citing Indore’s delayed city president selection and infighting among ministers, calling BJP’s factionalism ‘incurable.’

Bhuria also demanded an apology from union home minister Amit Shah, accusing him of insulting Dr BR Ambedkar in Parliament. He questioned if Shah would apologise at Ambedkar’s statue in Mhow.

On the Jobat graphite mining issue, Bhuria criticised the state for bypassing Gram Sabhas and ignoring the PESA Act, which he claims has adversely affected tribal families.

“We will fight this battle from the house to the streets,” he added. City Congress president Surjeet Singh Chaddha, state spokesmen Santosh Singh Gautam and Nilabh Shukla accompanied him during the presser.
