Pune Man Hangs Himself After Alleged Torture By His In-Laws And Wife: ‘You Should Die, We Will Get Her Remarried’ |

Even as the news of the suicide of Atul Subhash in Bengaluru and a man in Delhi due to alleged spouse harassment is not new, another man ended his life allegedly due to harassment by his wife, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law. And this time it is Pune.

The deceased has been identified as Praful Kadam, 35, a resident of Dhanori. He died on December 31, and the FIR was lodged at Vishrantwadi Police Station.

As per the FIR, the accused used to harass him by saying, “You have deceived us, you should die. If you die, we will get her remarried, and she will be happy.” After this consistent torture, the parents of the accused claimed that he took his life by hanging. The further investigation is going on and will be done by PSI Padmraj Gample.

Atul Subhash Suicide

Subhash, 34, was found hanging from his house in Munnekolalu, Southeast Bengaluru, on December 9. He left behind lengthy videos and notes, blaming his wife and in-laws for driving him to suicide through “false” cases and “persistent torture”.

He (Subhash) had left about a forty page death note and he has raised several issues, most importantly about the misuse of provisions in the law that were meant for protection of women. He has said that he was pressured for R 3 crore and other things including cases booked against him.

Following his death, an FIR was registered in Bengaluru against Nikita and her family under Sections 108 (abetment of suicide) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

In the recent month men’s right activist have been raising the demand for the law for the alleged torture by wives of men and misuse of laws against men.
