Young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has continued to perform brilliantly since his debut in international cricket and has retained his place in the Test and T20 teams. Now, he can soon become a part of the Indian team in ODI cricket also. According to reports, he may get a chance to play in the upcoming England series. Yashasvi will be seen playing as an opener in the T20 series against England starting from January 22, where he will get the opportunity to complete the fastest 1000 runs.
Yashasvi has 723 runs in 23 matches, and is just 277 runs away from completing 1000 T20 runs during the T20 series against England. If he achieves this feat in the next four innings, he will become the fastest Indian batsman to achieve this feat by breaking Virat Kohli’s record. If he takes five innings, he will equal Kohli’s record.
Virat Kohli had completed 1000 runs in 27 innings, while KL Rahul achieved this feat in 29 innings. David Malan of England has achieved this feat in 24 innings.
Yashasvi Jaiswal made his Test debut against West Indies in June 2024 and was also a part of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup. He also has four centuries in Test and one century in T20 International.
