What does your husband do? “He’s a homemaker.” Not something we hear every day, right? But times are changing, with more women becoming primary earners and men taking up household responsibilities.

Recently, an X user named Ro Burnham shared that he knew household chores and could be a good house husband. In what sounded like a casual matrimonial pitch, the man described himself as an “Unmarried submissive man” and sought matches from working women.

He turned heads with a social media post about looking for a bride who was willing to lead the family while he took over the homemaker role, unlike a typical Indian family where men are expected to be the bread earner.

He revealed that he didn’t have a job in hand.

Take a look at the X post below

“Complete housewife role”

“I’m looking for marriage with a working woman who can lead the family like a husband. I’m ready to take a complete housewife role after marriage, & I’ll relocate to your parents’ house”, Ro wrote in the now-viral post.

“If you’re interested, DM me!”, he added, asking prospect brides to message him on personal chat.

The man is believed to be based in Mumbai, as in another post, he quipped, “Living in Mumbai is proof that time also flies when you are not having fun.”

Internet reacts

As Ro’s post surfaced online, the internet had nearly a hundred questions to ask him. As of Monday evening, 140 people commented on his marriage proposal.

One user asked, “Can you make proper round chapatis?” Another took the more traditional and awkward) route with, “Are you a virgin?”. These comments echoed the kind of queries often fired at prospective brides during matchmaking, especially in India.

Well, the internet didn’t stop reacting there. Some netizens dropped a cheeky “CFBR” (commenting for better reach), while others were instantly reminded of the Bollywood film Ki & Ka, where gender roles were similarly reversed — with Kareena Kapoor’s character being the breadwinner and Arjun Kapoor managing home tasks.

It remains unclear whether Ro’s post was a serious matrimonial proposal or just a hilarious attempt to go viral.
