WWE Royal Rumble 2025 has made history, becoming one of the most successful events in the company’s history by breaking records in attendance, revenue, and global viewership. Held on February 1 at Lucas Oil Stadium, the event witnessed an official attendance of 70,347 fans though independent reports from WrestleTix placed the number at 67,950 still surpassing the previous Royal Rumble attendance record of 60,477 set in 1997.

Record-Breaking Revenue & Attendance

During the post-show press conference, WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H revealed that the event generated approximately $17 million (₹1,487 crore) in ticket sales, making it the highest-grossing Royal Rumble in WWE history and the third-highest-grossing event overall. Additionally, the 2025 Royal Rumble now holds the title for the biggest single-night gate in WWE history.

Fans from all 50 US states and 48 countries attended the event, further elevating its success. WWE also shattered records in merchandise and sponsorships, with merchandise sales surging 95% compared to the previous year’s event and sponsorship revenue increasing by 94%, as every match featured a commercial partner.

Unmatched Global Viewership

The success extended beyond the stadium, as Royal Rumble 2025 set new benchmarks for worldwide viewership. In the US, Peacock’s streaming numbers saw a 14% increase, while international viewership skyrocketed thanks to WWE’s newly signed global streaming deal with Netflix.

WWE’s ability to merge professional wrestling with mainstream entertainment was once again evident, as Royal Rumble 2025 made waves on social media. The event featured popular YouTube streamer IShowSpeed, who became the center of one of the night’s most viral moments after taking a devastating spear from Bron Breakker. The clip exploded online, amassing over 300 million views in just 24 hours, making it the most-watched Royal Rumble clip in WWE history.
