A Chinese company has made a shelter policy for single and divorced people. As part of the policy, the company issued a notice asking such employees to get married immediately.
They have been threatened that if they do not marry, their job will go away. But after protests from all sides and rebuke of officials, the company has withdrawn the notice. Actually, young people in China are not showing interest in getting married and that is why the population of the elderly in the country is increasing as China’s population is declining. Although the government is taking action for this, the situation remains the same. The purpose of this policy was to increase the marriage rate. According to the company’s policy, unmarried and divorced employees between the ages of 28 to 58 will have to get married by marriage by the end of September this year. Those who fail to settle the house by the end of March, they have to write a letter criticizing themselves and give the reason. And if they do not marry by the end of June, the company will evaluate them. If they are not married by the end of September, they will be fired. To comply with the policy, the companies had given notice to the employees and told that their job could go.
The company eventually withdrew the notice.
According to reports, Human Resources and Social Security Bureau visited the company on 13 February and the company withdrew its notice the next day. It was also said that no employee has been fired from the job due to the marital situation. The company is named Shantian Chemical Group. Which is located in Shandong province of eastern China. About 1200 people work in it.
