Scientists studying aliens have got great success. British scientists have indicated the existence of aliens on a planet in remote space. Top astronomers at the University of Cambridge say that they have found evidence of life on this remote planet called K2-18B. Scientists are 99.7% confident on this matter. British media outlet The Sun quoted scientists as saying that this planet named K2-18B is 120 light years away and is almost two and a half times bigger than our Earth.

Signs found on this planet like Earth

Astronomers have identified a molecule called DMS in the planet’s atmosphere. On Earth, this molecule is manufactured by small algae living in our oceans. They cannot be seen with human eyes, but they appear as colorful spots on water. Similar alien may also be present on K2-18B. Major scientist Professor Nikku Madhusudan said: “If life is not possible, there is no system in literature that can explain what we are seeing is what is.”

Study of data from James Web Telescope

Astronomers used data from James Web Space Telescope for this study. This giant telescope was launched in 2021. During the study, scientists have seen fingerprints of two molecules in the planet’s atmosphere: Dimethyl Sulfide (DMS) and Dimethyl Dyulfide (DADS). Both these molecules are produced by life only on earth, which are usually microorganisms.

Possibility of an ocean on the planet

The scientists involved in the study believe that the results are so strong that it is only 0.3% likely that it has been coincidental. It is probably a planet with aquatic ocean and intensive hydrogen-rich atmosphere. Professor Madhusudan told Surya that ‘if this part is the world, then this planet will be covered with oceans.’ The word Hyosine is formed by mixing hydrogen and osine together. Professor Madhusudan further said, “We have not yet known what the temperature of those oceans will be, but hopefully they will be a bit hot compared to the Earth.”
