News India Live, Digital Desk: Cricket has always been playing full of uncertainties and thrills. Many times records are made in this game that seem impossible. One such amazing record was formed on 21 November 2022 during the Vijay Hazare Trophy, when the Tamil Nadu cricket team made history by scoring 506 runs in ODI format (50 overs) for the first time in a match against Arunachal Pradesh.

Batting first against Arunachal Pradesh, the Tamil Nadu team scored 506 runs losing just 2 wickets in 50 overs. With this, Tamil Nadu became the first team in the world to score more than 500 runs in ODI cricket history.

With this record, Tamil Nadu also surpassed England’s record of 498 runs, which England made on 17 June 2022 against the Netherlands.

Opener Sai Sudarshan scored a brilliant 154 runs in 102 balls for Tamil Nadu. At the same time, Narayan Jagadishan scored a record 277 runs in 141 balls, in which he hit 25 fours and 15 sixes. Both these batsmen shared 416 runs for the first wicket and laid the foundation of the record.

The largest team score so far in 50 overs:

  1. Tamil Nadu – 506/2
  2. England – 498/6
  3. Surrey – 496/4
  4. England – 481/4
  5. India A – 458/4
