World Health Day is celebrated every year on 7 April all over the world. World Health Day is celebrated to highlight the importance of good health and to make everyone aware of the importance of health. The theme of this year is “Our planet, our health”. The effect of unhealthy lifestyle on health is immediately visible. This has caused many serious problems like diabetes, cancer, heart attack, high blood pressure, lung diseases, cholesterol etc. World Health Day is celebrated everywhere to increase awareness about increasing diseases and explain the importance of health to people.

Concerns are being expressed over the rising rate of infant mortality in the capital Delhi. Over 20 children die almost every day within a year of birth. Death of children has also been recorded. During pregnancy, children are sensitive to diseases such as improper growth, malnutrition, pneumonia and septicemia. Baby mortality has increased due to lack of proper development of the baby in the mother’s womb. This figure is increasing day by day, but still no facility has been provided to the needy.

There can be many reasons for the health of the baby, such as lack of proper development of the baby in the mother’s womb, lack of facilities in the hospital, etc. Therefore, it is necessary to provide health facilities to save the lives of newborns. Taking care of the baby in the womb is essential for its healthy health. This year’s theme will put more emphasis on reducing child mortality.

The maternal mortality rate has been reduced to less than 0.50 due to the increase in the number of delivery by pregnant mothers to 95.58 percent. But 142 pregnant women will die in 2023. Therefore, several efforts are being made to reduce the newborn and infant mortality in Delhi’s healthcare system. Concerns are being expressed over the increase in child mortality. Child mortality has increased significantly in the last four years.

There has been an increase in the number of delivery by pregnant mothers in the United States. There has been a decrease in maternal and infant mortality across the country including Delhi, compared to one and a half-decade ago, but there has been a slight increase in the number. Therefore, it is more important to focus on improving it and saving children’s lives. The US records 5 or 6 deaths every 1,000 births. Compared to this, infant mortality is higher in the US.
