The business of selling cupcakes started for mere entertainment has reached a business of millions today. Meghna Jain of Bangalore started the Cupcake Startup under the brand ‘Dream a Djan’ in 2018. Today his business earns around 1 crore rupees annually. Giving priority to education, he learned from experience and shaped his business and began a journey to become a successful entrepreneur.

 

Meghna learned the art of making cake from her neighbor in 2011. After that, she would make cupcakes every Sunday and sell in college on Monday. At first it was just a hobby, but his cupcakes started getting good response and the idea of ​​business started to flourish.

She came in third place in a business idea competition held at the college and had the opportunity to work with the Indian Angel Network. Then, in dilemma between completing his education or adopting a full -time career, Meghna opted to complete her education. Even during studies, he continued to sell cupcakes and was earning 7-8 thousand rupees a month. After completing his degree, he worked in the Food Tech Company ‘Inner Chef’ for a year and then focused on his own desert brand.

He decided to start his own business when he did not get any response to applying for a job in Starbucks. Even when the offer came from there, he continued the decision to start his own brand instead of a job. ‘Dream a Dynni’ started in 2018. Within a few months, he took the business from domestic kitchen to two rooms and moved to a large commercial kitchen in 2020. However, at the same time the business had to be stopped due to Corona. Even in these difficult times, Meghna did not give up and taught new techniques to her team. During this time his business increased rapidly. Before the epidemic, the brand whose turnover was 1.5 lakh per month, earned 30 lakhs in 2020-21. Today, ‘Dream A. Djan’ is doing business of about Rs 1 crore per year.
