Chandigarh: Chief minister Bhagwant Mann who along with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal, offered prayers at the Golden Temple in Amritsar on the completion of three years of AAP’s government in the state, claimed that the work that has been done in the past three years had not been done even the past 70 years.
Addressing newspersons at Amritsar, Mann said that on March 16, 2022, his government had pledged to make Punjab a “rangla Punjab’’ (prosperous Punjab) again and that his government is working honestly to fulfil the promise.
He said that while the war against drugs and corruption is on, the AAP government has given over 52,000 government jobs to youths, free power is being given and infrastructure, improved.
Mann also said on X: The work done in these years has not been done in the last 70 years. We will fulfil every promise made to Punjabis and will take the ongoing war against drugs to its logical conclusion’’
Kejriwal, who was accompanied by his wife Sunita in Amritsar after completing a 10-day Vipassana meditation session in Hoshiarpur, said that in three years, gurus guided the AAP leaders and gave them the strength to continue serving people. Today, the biggest problems in Punjab are drugs and corruption and the people of the state have waged a war against them, he said.
Meanwhile, several ministers and party leaders including state party chief Aman Arora took to X to post the achievements of the government. Arora said: “Over 51K Govt Jobs provided, 406 services are being delivered at citizens’ doorsteps, corruption-free governance, free power & many more pro-ppl initiatives of CM@BhagwantMann Ji’s Govt to make the state Rangla Punjab as envisioned by Sh @ArvindKejriwal.
A PERIOD OF FAILURE, CORRUPTION: CONGRESS
Meanwhile, the principal opposition Congress lashed out at the ruling government’s three-years tenure describing it as a period of failure and corruption.
State party chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring said the AAP government has failed on fronts, be it economy, law and order, drugs, health, employment or investments.
Punjab BJP general secretary, Anil Sareen, also alleged that the past three years’ tenure of AAP government remained a tenure of “loot’’ and without any development (vikas) and justice (insaaf).
