The risk of heart disease within one year of delivery
Dr. Ruby Lynn, who researches, says that when the twins are in the womb, the mother’s heart has to work more. Even after delivery, it takes several weeks for the heart to become normal. He also said that women whose blood pressure was normal during pregnancy also remains the risk of heart disease till one year of delivery.
Shocking results revealed in research
36 million delivery figures in the US between 2010 and 2020 were researched. It was found that out of every 1 lakh delivery among the mothers of twins, 1,105 mothers had to be hospitalized due to heart disease, while in a child’s mothers this figure was 734 per 1 lakh.
This means that even if the mother’s blood pressure was normal during pregnancy, the risk of heart disease is doubled even when there is a twin child. And if the blood pressure was high, the risk increases by eight times!
However, a good thing was also revealed that women who had high blood pressure during pregnancy and gave birth to a child were more likely to die within a year of delivery. Whereas this was not the case with the mothers of twins. Perhaps the risk of mothers of twins can be reduced in a long time.
Regular check up for one year after delivery
Dr. Lynn says that women who are undergoing fertility treatment, especially those who are obese are obese, who have diabetes, high blood pressure or heart disease, should be aware of the risks of twin pregnancy. Doctors should also do regular check -up of such women for one year after delivery so that if there is any problem, it can be detected on time.
