Chandigarh: Haryana police has arrested two persons and booked four others, including the woman who had recently accused the state BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli and former state publicity cell chief and singer Rocky Mittal of rape, for blackmailing and extortion.

It may be recalled that Badoli and Mittal were booked in December, 2024, for alleged gangrape by neighbouring Himachal Pradesh police after a Delhi-based woman accused them of rape at a hotel in Kasauli in July, 2023. She alleged that Badoli and Mittal had first forced her to consume alcohol before raping her. She alleged that Badoli had promised her a government job while Mittal, to help her become an actor.
However, in his complaint with Panchkula police, Mittal, who had joined Congress before state Assembly election last year, held that he was first contacted by the woman complainant in September, 2024 and later, along with Mehak, threatened to frame him and Badoli in rape case if they (Badoli and Mittal) did not comply with her demands. Mittal also held that Amit Bindal also pressurised him to give a statement against Badoli in the alleged rape case.
Stating that they demanded Rs 50 lakh from him, Mittal held that when he refused they escalated their threats following which he filed his complaint with Haryana DGP Shatrujeet Kapur on September 14 and with Panchkula police on September 18, 2024. However, the woman lodged complaint of rape by Mittal and Badoli at Kasauli on December 8, Mittal held.
Mittal further claimed since the two accused continued to threaten him, he informed police which reviewed Mittal’s complaint and registered an FIR on February 3, 2025.
