Bhopal: Woman Sentenced To Life Imprisonment Under POCSO; 20-Yr RI To Two Others | Representational Picture
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The district and sessions court, Bhopal has awarded life imprisonment to a woman for kidnapping a minor girl under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Special Judge POCSO Act Kumudini Patel has passed the order.
The court has sentenced accused Sadhna Bairwa, who kidnapped a 13-year-old minor on pretext of attending Bhandara and sold her in Rajasthan.
Similarly, rigorous imprisonment (RI) of 20 years was awarded to Mor Singh Bairwa and Bhavani Shankar, who raped the minor after marrying her. On 14 April, 2019 the victim’s grandmother had lodged a missing report in Kolar Road police station.
The grandmother had told the police that her granddaughter had gone to attend Bhandara with Sadhana Bairwa on the evening of April 13. Kolar Road police rescued the victim on June 13, 2019.
The victim had told police that Sadhana Bairwa had kidnapped her on the pretext of bhandara and took her to Rajasthan and sold her to Bhavani Shankar. Sadhana had got her married to her brother-in-law Mor Singh.
Bhavani Shankar and Mor Singh Bairwa had raped the victim. Kolar Road police station had registered a case against accused Sadhna Bairwa, Mor Singh Bairwa and Bhavani Shankar under sections 363, 366, 370, 372 (2) 376 (3) and 120B of the IPC and POCSO 3/4 Act.
