Woman, Relative Assaulted In Sarafa Chaupati, Two Vendors Sent To Jail

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Two men allegedly harassed and assaulted a woman and her relative in Sarafa Chaupati on Friday night. After seeing the video of the incident, the police took action against two vendors of Choupati and sent them to jail on Sunday.

As per reports, the woman went to a food stall in Sarafa Chaupati and had an argument with the vendor over some issue. The vendor later assaulted her and her relative. Someone made the video of the incident and circulated it on social media.

It is said that during the incident, no policemen were on the spot. The woman was allegedly assaulted by two vendors. Other vendors gathered on the spot and intervened, stopping the accused. Sarafa police station in-charge Rurendra Singh Raghuwanshi informed the Free Press that the woman did not lodge a complaint with the police.

After seeing the video of the incident, preventive action was taken against two vendors Rajat Goyal and Narayan Prajapat and they were sent to jail. Raghuwanshi said that the investigation was on and the CCTV cameras of the area were also being examined. Information about the woman is being gathered to get the exact information about the argument due to which the incident happened. 

2 Youths Arrested For Snatching Woman’s Gold Chain

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Two youths were arrested for robbing a woman of her gold chain in the Kanadiya area, police said here on Sunday. The  gold chain and the bike used in the crime were recovered from the accused and they were being questioned for other such crimes, said the cops.  

According to DCP (zone-2) Abhinay Vishwakarma, a youth snatched the gold chain of Urvashi Sharma, a resident of Sanchar Nagar area and fled with his accomplice who was on a bike. The woman was on morning walk when the youth came from behind and snatched the gold chain from her neck.

She caught the snatcher and thrashed him but he managed to flee from there with his accomplice, who was on a bike near the spot.  The team of Kanadiya police station in charge Saharsh Yadav examined the CCTV camera footage of the area and zeroed in on some suspects.

On the basis of the bike number, the police managed to arrest the accused Manoj Lobhania, a resident of Chandan Nagar area and Ravi Khatik of Aerodrome area of the city. They first tried to mislead the police but later confessed to their crime. A gold chain worth Rs 50000 was recovered from their possession and the bike used in the crime was also seized.
