Mumbai: Railway police have arrested a porter of raping a woman in a long distance train on Bandra Terminus and started further investigation into the case.
According to the information, the woman and her son arrived here by train from the village located outside the Bandra Terminus on Saturday night. After getting off the train, the woman climbed into another train, which was on the other side of the platform.
According to RPF, there was no passenger in another train at that time due to night time. However, a porter was present in this second train and allegedly raped the victim.
After this incident, the porter escaped from the spot. After this, the woman contacted Bandra GRP Police Station and lodged a complaint in this regard. On the basis of the complaint, the police have registered a case of rape against the accused Coolie under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and started searching for the accused.
In which RPF searched the footage of several surveillance cameras to investigate the accused Coolie. He was then arrested from Bandra Terminus. Police is investigating why the woman climbed into another train after landing at Bandra Terminus. The police further interrogated the accused in this case. However, the accused did not give any details in this regard. The GRP further investigated the case.
