Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 24-year-old woman ended her life by hanging herself at her place in Lasudia area after a youth who had promised to marry her reneged on his promise. She sent photos of her hanging to the youth.
According to police, deceased was identified as Vishakha, a native of Kota, Rajasthan and was living in Mahalaxmi Nagar. Her family members said that Vishakha had been married before, but she got divorced within a year. After moving to Indore, she began working at a spa centre owned by Rohit Meena.
Over time, the two became close and Rohit promised to marry her but later reneged on his promise. Vishakha repeatedly called and messaged Rohit. She even attempted suicide and sent photos of these attempts to him. Rohit forwarded these photos to Vishakha’s younger sister, asking her to console Vishakha.
When Vishakha received no response from Rohit, she took her own life. Vishakha’s parents have also alleged that Rohit had taken Vishakha’s mobile phone. She is survived by her parents and three younger sisters. The police began a probe and conducted post-mortem of the deceased.
