Aligarh: After the spine-chilling murder of former merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput by his wife Muskaan and her lover Sahil, in which they kept the pieces of the body in a drum filled with cement in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, many such cases have come to light in which wives were threatening to chop their husbands and put them in the blue drum. However, the fear of drum is not only among husbands but wives are also afraid of the blue drum.
Scared by such a threat, a married woman reached the Uparkot police station on Friday and Seeking help from the police.
The woman said that her husband threatened her and said that, “Muskan’s case is nothing, we will not put you in the drum, we will throw you away somewhere and say that she was short-tempered, she fled leaving us.”
The woman has been identified as Saumaiya Saleem. The married woman worked at an insurance company.
She alleged that her husband makes obscene photos and videos of her, without her consent. She further said that her husband constantly threatens her by sending videos of the Meerut Muskan case on her phone.
“Muje Muskan ki video aur Jaipur mei jo murder case hua hai wo videos bhejte rehte hai,” she said.
It is alleged that on the morning of April 4, the husband beat her and abused her. Tired of the endless ordeal, she approached the police.
Saumaiya has claimed that her In-laws demand money from her and abuse her as her father is building his house instead of giving them money.
She said that when she complained her mother-in-law regarding her husband’s action, she said that woman like you should not be beaten but killed. The woman’s husband has been identified as Faisal Ansari.
She said that she is filing the complaint so that what happened in Meerut murder case does not happen to her.
Saumaiya married Faisal in 2023 and claims that she was physically abused since the day of marriage.
Police Reaction
ASP Mayank Pathak reacting to the complaint said, “A woman has accused her husband and in-laws of assault and dowry harassment. Investigation is being conducted on the basis of the complaint received. Further legal action will be taken after investigation. In this regard.”
Earlier last month, a man in Uttar Pradesh accused his wife of physically assaulting him and threatening to kill him before stuffing his body in a blue drum.
Besides, in another case, Seeking to avoid being harmed by his wife and her lover, a man from Uttar Pradesh decided to get the couple married, even becoming a witness for the legal process.
However, the woman was sent back by her new mother-in-law, who said she felt bad for the two children the woman had with her first husband and wanted to ensure they got their mother’s love. The first husband has also accepted her again.
