Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bilkhiriya police on Wednesday lodged an FIR against a man and his kin for abetment to suicide and SC/SCT Act in connection with the suicide committed by his wife in August. Further action will soon be taken in this connection, police said.
As per reports, one Soram Malviya (30), resident of Transport Nagar Kokta area under Bilkhiriya police station limits, committed suicide by hanging herself on August 6.

Her father Shankarlal Malviya informed police that his daughter had a love marriage with one Mahesh Puri some years back. Shankarlal claimed that Mahesh and his kin used to harass Soram and humiliate her while making casteist remarks as she belonged to the scheduled caste community.
Fed up of harassment, Soram ended her life, her father alleged. Following his complaint, Bilkhiriya police initiated an investigation and lodged an FIR against Soram’s husband and his family members Jeevan Puri, Madan Puri, Ajab Puri and Dinesh Puri. In-charge at Bilkhiriya police station TI Umesh Chauhan said further action will soon be taken against them.
