An unsettling video has surfaced online from Assam’s Kaziranga National Park, showing a safari trip turning awry as a mother and her daughter fall in front of one-horned rhinos from a speeding jeep.
Fortunately, the duo escaped unscathed, even as one of the rhinos, ready to charge, ran towards one of the safari jeeps.
As seen in the viral video, three jeeps carrying visitors prepare to take a right turn when a young girl and her mother fall to the ground from the moving jeep.
The bone-chilling video of the incident has gone viral on social media, with many users raising concerns over the safety of visitors on such guided tours.
According to reports, the incident took place in the Bagori range of Kaziranga National Park. However, it remains unclear when this video was recorded.
As per an NDTV report, after the video of the incident went viral on social media, the Kaziranga administration has ordered an investigation into the matter. Tourists visiting Kaziranga have been advised to remain vigilant during safaris.
Reacting to the video, a user raising concerns over the safety of visitors said, “These guided tours are highly questionable when it comes to the safety of visitors and the security of the environment and habitat. There needs to be a major review and revamp of everything.”
“A mother and daughter fell in front of rhinos but luckily escaped unscathed. Jungle safaris are fine, but why do people behave so carelessly? If something had gone wrong, they would have blamed the rhinos and the government for it,” wrote another user.
