Palghar, Maharashtra: A 24-year-old woman has filed a police complaint accusing a man of repeatedly raping and threatening her over a span of several years. The alleged crimes occurred between 2019 and May 6, 2025, in the Nalasopara area of Vasai, within Palghar district.
According to the FIR registered at Achole Police Station, the victim, a domestic worker residing, alleges that the accused lured her to Maharashtra from her native village under the pretext of offering a good job and promising to marry her and provide a home.
Once in Nalasopara East, the accused allegedly exploited the fact that the woman was an orphan and took her to a room near the fire brigade in Agarwal Nagar, where he reportedly forced himself on her against her will. The complaint states that he also recorded videos of the assaults without her consent and threatened to make them viral if she did not comply with his demands. This led to repeated sexual assaults over the years.
The victim further alleges that when she resisted his advances, she was physically assaulted and threatened with death. She claims that the accused touched her inappropriately and committed acts that violated her dignity and modesty.
The police have booked the case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. As of the time of reporting, the accused remains at large and has not yet been taken into custody.
Police clarified that the delay in filing the FIR was due to the survivor only coming forward on May 15, 2025. The case is currently under investigation, and further action is expected.
