Mother Parvati was born as the daughter of King Himalayas. For which he did harsh penance and was pleased, after which Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were married. Seeing all this, Lord Shiva asked Maharishi Agastya to go to the other end of the earth with his blessings and all the virtuous fruits. As soon as the sage Agastya reached there, the balance of the earth was restored. After which Lord Shiva’s procession reached Mata Parvati’s house. When Mahadev Shiva reached there, surrounded by ghosts, the people of the city were frightened to see their terrible form and started retreating. According to mythology, Goddess Parvati’s mother, Manavati, fainted due to fear and started cursing Narada again and again due to the proposal of marriage.
