London, July 8 (HS) Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas pulled off a thrilling upset on Friday to beat two-time champion Andy Murray 7-6(3), 6-7(2), 4-6, 7 Entered the third round of Wimbledon by defeating -6(3), 6-4.

On Thursday, Murray was leading Tsitsipas 6-7(3), 7-6(2), 6-4 when play was halted at 10:38 p.m. The match was stopped in view of the possibility of not finishing the match before 11 pm.

World number five Tsitsipas produced a brilliant comeback when the match resumed on Friday. He hit 87 winners and won the match in four hours and 41 minutes to reach the third round of Wimbledon for the third time.

Tsitsipas said after winning the match, “It’s never easy against Andy. I know everyone here loves him. It was a very tough match and I was very impressed with his level. I am very impressed with the kind of performance he has shown even after undergoing two surgeries and I wish him all the best.”

“It was p.c-inducing. It is difficult when you have grown up watching him play on this court. I looked at him, I looked at Novak, Roger, Rafa. These four men shaped the game and that is the reason why I am here today after seeing them and being inspired by their game.
