The team director has given a big statement regarding the captaincy of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) amid the mega auction of IPL 2025. After this statement, speculations have started that once again Virat Kohli can take over the captaincy of the RCB team.

RCB director Mo Bobat said that Kohli had sent some special messages to the team management in the night after the end of the first day of the IPL mega auction.

The two-day mega auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Today is the second i.e. last day of the auction. Meanwhile, the team director has given a big statement regarding the captaincy of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

After this statement, speculations have started that once again Virat Kohli can take over the captaincy of the RCB team. RCB director Mo Bobat said that Kohli had sent some special messages to the team management in the night after the end of the first day of the IPL mega auction.

Kohli will decide the captaincy of RCB

While giving his views, the director of RCB said that the management has completely left the decision of captaincy of the team to Virat Kohli. He will decide whether he will captain the team or someone else. It has become clear from this statement that no matter who is the captain in the team, only Kohli rules the team.

Actually, RCB director Mo Bobat said, ‘Virat is an important member of our team. He is a senior player of the team. But now we have left the decision of captaincy to him. He sent us some big messages yesterday.

Du Plessis and Maxwell were not bought

RCB had retained Virat Kohli for Rs 21 crore before the IPL auction. Apart from Kohli, RCBA paid Rajat Patidar Rs. 11 crores and Yash Dayal Rs. Rs 5 crore were kept. On the other hand, RCB dropped captain Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj. These three were not even bought in the auction.

Entry of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Devdutt Padikal in RCB

RCB made the most expensive purchase of fast bowler Josh Hazlewood. He was included in the team by bidding Rs 12.50 crore. Apart from this, Phil Salton was bought for Rs 11.50 crore, Jitesh Sharma for Rs 11 crore, Bhuvneshwar Kumar for Rs 10.75 crore and Liam Livingstone for Rs 8.75 crore. RCB also bought Krunal Pandya for Rs 5.75 crore and Devdutt Padikal for Rs 2 crore.
