Israel Hezbollah War: Israeli forces launch Operation ‘Northern Arrow’ in Lebanon on 1 October. The operation was based on limited targets. In which Hezbollah’s hideout was targeted. About two months later, US President Joe Biden has proposed a ceasefire. Both Israel and Hezbollah have agreed on this. According to Israeli media, the ceasefire agreement was prepared on Monday itself. After this, it can be approved in the Israeli National Security Cabinet meeting to be held today. However, Israeli forces attempted to destroy all major Hezbollah targets before the ceasefire.
Earlier, sustained air strikes by the Israeli Air Force had destroyed Hezbollah weapons depots and other important sites. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) used their technological capabilities in this operation, which involved pager attacks targeting more than 3,000 Hezbollah militants. This technology made Israel’s strategy an example of future military technology.
Hezbollah’s response
Hezbollah has reduced the intensity of its rocket attacks on Israel since ceasefire talks began. Only double figures of rockets were fired on Monday, which was seen as a sign towards a peace deal.
