Redefining Governance in Nagaland with Tech: IAS Rohit Singh’s People-First Vision for Tseminyu

IAS Rohit Singh is a 2018 Batch Officer of Nagaland cadre and is currently posted as Deputy Commissioner in Tseminyu District, Nagaland. Known for his progressive vision, Singh made a significant mark in his previous tenure as ADC Wokha with his contribution to the launch of ‘Wokha SAATHI Chatbot’which won the prestigious National Award for e-Governance 2024 under the District Level Initiatives category. This achievement marks a historic moment for Nagaland, as it is the state’s first project to receive a Gold Award in e-Governance. In Tseminyu, Singh is focused on improving the standard of living for its citizens through good governance and citizen centric administration.

“We envision a responsive, transparent, and accountable administration that actively engages with the community,” he quoted. To achieve this, Singh aims to leverage the technology and streamline administrative processes. Additionally he is also focused on enhancing the saturation of Central and State government schemes in the district, ensuring that all the benefits reach citizens. “Our goal is to make public services more accessible and efficient, and to ensure the saturation of government schemes in the district,” he added. Beyond this, under his leadership emphasis will also be placed on grievance redressal, participatory governance, and outreach initiatives to bridge the gap between the administration and the people. Drawing from the success of the Wokha SAATHI Chatbot, he envisaged a similar initiative for Tseminyu District, tailored to the unique challenges posed by remote villages, hilly terrain, and limited accessibility. “Such a digital assistant would reduce the cost and effort required by the general public to access essential services and bridge communication gaps in real-time, thereby reinforcing our commitment to citizen-centric governance” He quoted

With a clear vision, IAS Rohit Singh is working on digital governance in the Northeast and making the administration truly people-first.
