Patna: Shivdeep Lande, a former Bihar IPS officer and known as ‘Singham’, entered politics on Tuesday. Lande has not spoken about joining any party, but has announced the formation of his new political party ‘Hind Sena’. Lande gave this information at a press conference held at a hotel.
Regarding this new party, Lande said, “Our party will work on the principles of nationalism, service and dedication and will try to become the voice of the people of Bihar.” After serving Bihar in police uniform for 18 years, I want to come in front of the public in a new role. The Hind Sena party will work to change Bihar and take it on the path of development.
Meanwhile, Lande has withdrawn his name from the party before the 2025 Bihar assembly elections. Lande, a 1996 batch IPS officer, resigned from the police service in September last year. Lande, who is known for his impressive and dutiful image, is known in Bihar by names like ‘Singham’ and ‘Supercop’. In the districts like Patna, Purnia, Araria and Munger, he took strict action against the criminals while being Superintendent of Police.
Will contest assembly elections in Bihar
Lande said that he would contest the Bihar assembly elections. He said that after leaving the IPS job, he got proposals from sending him to Rajya Sabha to make the Chief Ministerial candidate. But he rejected them all. They are forming a new party to change the condition and direction of the youth. Telling the story of the naming of the party, he remembered the police job, in which everyone used to say ‘Jai Hind’. He also made many sarcastic comments on caste politics.
