Rahul had filed a review in the Surat court to reconsider the decision. But the court refused to hear it, after which Rahul Gandhi filed a review in the Gujarat High Court on 25 April. After this, on May 2, the High Court had reserved the decision in this matter.

Further, the court said that if Rahul gets relief in this case, then his MP will be reinstated and he will be able to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. If this does not happen. So he cannot contest any election for 8 years. In 2019, Rahul Gandhi had given a statement regarding the Modi surname in the assembly of Karnataka, saying that why all thieves have Modi as their surname, after this Gujarat’s BJP MLA Purnesh Modi had filed a defamation case against Rahul.

In 2018 itself, another defamation case was filed against Rahul Gandhi in Maharashtra, this case is going on in Rewari Court located in Mazgaon. A defamation case has been registered under sections 499 and 500 of the IPC. was filed by the worker of the union. Rahul is accused. That he has linked the murder of Gauri Lankesh to the ideology of the BJP and the Sangh.
