IRCTC issued a statement

In view of the confusion born from this viral post, IRCTC has revealed the truth through a post on the social media platform X and issued an explanation that no change is being proposed or implemented in the time of Tatkal ticket booking. The company said, “Some posts are being broadcast on social media channels, which mentions different times for immediate and premium Tatkal tickets. No such change is proposed for AC or non-AC categories in immediate or premium immediate booking time, booking time for agents will remain unchanged.

Now what is the rule for Tatkal ticket?

Currently, the e-ticket can be booked just one day before the journey date. Booking for AC categories (2A, 3A, CC, EC, 3E) will start at 10:00 am Indian time, and booking for non-AC categories (SL, FC, 2S) will start from 11:00 am Indian time. Tatkal ticket facility is not available in the first AC. There is an immediate IRCTC app and a final -minute booking plan available through the website, where limited seats are offered at a slightly higher price.

When can you cancel Tatkal tickets?

Here let us tell you that additional immediate fee is 10% of the original rent for the second category and 30% for all other categories. And the most important thing is that if the confirmed Tatkal ticket is canceled, no refund is given. However, if the Tatkal ticket remains in the waiting list of the train, it can be canceled, but with the standard deduction rules according to the current railway guidelines.
