7th Pay Commission: Government employees hoped that the central government could announce dearness allowance before Holi. But the government has not announced any announcement yet. In such a situation, it is expected that central employees may soon get a big gift. And the wait can end. However, these government employees may get a slight shock on the DA front. According to reports, the government can increase the DA from 2 percent to 4 percent. But after the release of inflation figures, speculation has intensified whether DA will increase by just 2 percent? If this happens, it will be the lowest DA in the last 7 years.
What do experts think?
Many experts have expressed hope that this time DA and DR will increase by only 2 per cent, which will be applicable from 1 January 2025. If this happens, it will be the lowest DA in the last 7 years. The DA was last increased by 2 percent in July 2018. Let us tell you that some experts are expecting an increase of 3 percent to 4 percent.
How much will increase DA?
The complete calculation of DA and DR is based on the percentage of basic pay and inflation. DA and DR are increased by the central government every year in January and July. The DA depends on the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI-IW) for industrial workers. The DA is determined by the government based on AICPI-IW data of the last 6 months.
Some experts are saying that DA will increase by more than 2 percent. The reason behind this is believed to be the statement given by the Reserve Bank Governor in February. The RBI governor had estimated that the average inflation rate in this financial year would be 4.8 percent.
