Unnao: A tragic incident has come to light in Uttar Pradesh’s Chhattadhari Kheda of Ajgain Kotwali area of Unnao. After a dispute between husband and wife, the woman set herself on fire.
The severely burnt woman was rushed to the nearby health center. She was referred to the district hospital after her health deteriorated. The family took her to a private hospital, where she succumbed to her injures during treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Somvati. At the time of the incident, only the husband and wife were present in the house. Other family members had gone to attend a fair in a nearby village.
During this time, an argument broke-out between the couple over something. As the argument escalated, Somvati set herself on fire. Hearing the screams, the neighbours reached the spot and extinguished the fire.
As soon as the wife’s father was alerted, he immediately reached the spot and took his daughter to the health center. Somvati had three small children.
Police Action
Kotwali Inspector Suresh Singh speaking to the media said that on the information given by the deceased’s father, the police have started the process of postmortem.
