Punjab Police removed farmers from Shambhu border yesterday

Significantly, the farmers, who have been protesting for a year on the Shambhu border between Punjab and Haryana, were removed by the Punjab Police yesterday (March 19). Punjab Police detained farmer leaders Jagjit Dallewal and Saravan Singh Pandher. About 200 farmers trying to march on Khanauri and Shambhu border were also detained. At present, three thousand police personnel have been deployed on both borders to prevent farmers from going to Delhi and remove them from the protest site.

 

There was also a clash between the police and the farmers on the border.

During this time a lot of tear gas was released on the farmers. After which the farmers have sat on the dharna there. Now the Punjab government has also joined the eviction of these farmers. The Punjab Police has recently dropped farmers’ tents with the help of JCB. While many people have been detained and put in jail.

Congress accused Punjab government

Amid this situation, former Punjab Chief Minister and Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi said that farmers are being attacked under a conspiracy. The government has blocked the road, not the farmers. Farmers want to come to Delhi, the police have blocked them to stop them.
