Rudraksha is considered very sacred. According to Shiva Purana, people who eat tamasic food, eat non-vegetarian food and smoke should never wear Rudraksha.
Pregnant women should also not wear Rudraksha, in Hinduism Sutak period takes place one and a half month after the birth of a child. Sutak period is considered impure. Wearing such Rudraksh is an insult to them.
Do not touch Rudraksha with impure hands. It should never be worn in black thread, by doing so you will be deprived of its benefits. Never give your worn Rudraksh to someone else to wear.
