A Bengaluru techie named Atul Subhash uploaded a post on X claiming a that a “legal genocide of men is happening in India”. He tagged US President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk in his post, after losing his confidence in India’s judiciary, which shocking read, “I will be dead when you will read this”.

“I am writing this suicide note in sound disposing mind. I am committing suicide today due to the explicit instigation for suicide, harrassment, extortion and corruption of individuals”, he documented while listing down the names of five persons including his wife, his in-laws, and Principal Family Court Judge (UP) Rita Kaushik.

Atul shared a video online before he died by suicide revealing about his decision to end life and holding five people responsible. He also left behind a suicide note, reported to be 40-pages-long.

Netizens have now sparked an outrage on social media demanding justice for the 34-year-old techie’s death. #JusticeForAtulSubhash is trending on X and there are several posts of both men and women voicing out for the man who took his life after blaming his wife and her family for his death.

Noted author Shefali Vaidya wrote, “This man was definitely of sound mind when he recorded this video. He even drank water after the app reminded him to drink water. Noting down the point that “His wife, driven by greed, was already receiving ₹40,000 every month as maintenance, despite working at Accenture and earning her own money. Yet, she demanded ₹2-4 lakhs more”, Gupta called it an incident reflecting the harsh reality is that the laws in India .

Wife had filed domestic violence case against him

It was learned the techie had been facing marital discord with his wife. The woman, whom Atul blamed and held responsible for his death, had registered a case against him on the allegations of domestic violence in Uttar Pradesh.

In his video and suicide note, Atul broke silence over the multiple criminal cases filed against him by his wife and her family members, including domestic violence and harassment charges due to which he was going through mental and emotional trauma.

Before his suicide act, he penned a letter requesting an NGO to look after his elderly parents who need support and assistance.

Investigation underway

The suicide was reported under the Marathahalli police station limits. Atul had hung a placard that read “Justice is Due” in his room, police told media while mentioning that a case has been registered and further investigation into the matter is underway.
