BRUSHING TEETH AT NIGHT: Don’t you feel that brushing at night is necessary and you go to sleep without brushing? If the answer to this question is ‘yes’ then the time has come for you to be alert.
We say this because a study on people who do not brush at night has made a shocking discovery. The study clearly states that people who do not sleep after brushing at night may have an increased risk of heart disease.
According to this study published in the Scientific Reports of Nature Journal, not brushing at night can lead to heart disease. The study included 1,675 people aged 20 years or older. It has been revealed in the study that people who do not brush at night have a higher risk of heart disease. The results of this study suggest that daily brushing and sleeping may reduce the risk of periodontal disease, tooth decay and problems related to oral hygiene.
If you do not take care of oral hygiene, then it is also possible that you may have heart disease as well as many other diseases. According to a scientific report in the journal Nature, the people involved in this study were admitted to the Osaka University Hospital, which is located in Japan, between 2013 and 2016 for surgery, tests and treatment.
Group MN consisted of 409 people who brushed twice a day (morning and night). Group Night had 751 people who only brushed at night. There were 164 people in the morning group who brushed their teeth only after waking up in the morning. There was also a group of nuns who neither brushed their teeth in the morning nor at night.
The American Dental Association recommends brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste. Apart from this, flossing at least once a day helps in removing bacteria and plaque from the mouth.
