In a shocking incident, actor Rohit Basfore, who will be next seen in Manoj Bajpayee’s The Family Man 3, was found dead near a waterfall in Assam on the evening of April 27. While the exact cause of his death is yet to be ascertained, the police is suspecting it to be murder.
Rohit had reportedly returned to his family in Guwahati from Mumbai a few months ago, and on Sunday, he left for a “trip with his friends” around noon. The family lost contact with him later in the day, and in the evening, his friend informed the family members about the tragic incident.
Police said that multiple injuries were found on Rohit’s body, including wounds on his head, face, and other parts. His family has accused Rohit’s friends of murdering him.
Who was Rohit Basfore?
Rohit was all set to star in the third installment of the much-awaited series by Raj & DK, The Family Man, very soon. He had already shot for his scenes in the show, and had even shared photos from the sets on his Instagram handle.
Rohit was a resident of Guwahati, Assam. Prior to entering showbiz, he was a professional martial arts and gymnastics coach, and he would often post videos of his trainings and workouts on his Instagram handle. He was also a biking enthusiast, and had shared photos and videos from his biking adventures.
In 2024, Rohit got on board The Family Man 3 and began shooting for his small yet crucial role. He also shared photos with actor Jaideep Ahlawat and other members from the sets of The Family Man 3.
Manoj Bajpayee condoles Rohit’s demise
Soon after the news of Rohit’s demise broke, actor Manoj Bajpayee, who headlines The Family Man franchise, took to his X handle and extended his condolences.
“May God bless your soul with peace Rohit Basfore!! Gone too soon! Our condolences to the family! Om Shanti! (sic),” he wrote.
The cops are yet to issue their official statement on Rohit’s demise.
