The deceased of Gujarat have been identified as Praveen Chaudhary (50), his wife Daksha (45), Beti Vidhi (23) and son Mitkumar (20). He was going to America with the expectation of a better future, but lost his life in an attempt to cross the dangerous border.

How did the Chaudhary family die?
The Chaudhary family reached Montreal in March 2023, from where they rode on a domestic flight to Vinypeg. Then a gray dose vehicle came to pick them up. Which was running ‘Babuji’ colleagues. The family was stopped at an Esso gas station in South Lancaster, Ontario for some time, and then left in a motal in Cornwal. On the night of 23 March, he was forced to cross the St. Lawrence River to illegally enter the United States. His bodies were found in the river six days later. Four Romanian migrants and boat operators were also killed in the accident. Investigation revealed that it was a major smuggling, in which “Babuji” could be the mastermind.

Who is ‘Babuji’?
According to sources from Canadian officials and Indian migrants, ‘Babuji’ is aka Babubhai or Babuchi, a Canadian -based Gujarati man, who is known to illegally smuggle people from India. He is mainly involved in the network of immigrants coming from Gujarat and Punjab. According to the RCMP, the leader of this gang is The Singhsan Rasaiya, a Sri Lankan origin living in Montreal. Joelo, a close associate from Russia, coordinated transactions, drivers and other smugglers. However, “Babuji” has been described as the main face of this conspiracy in the court record.

A suspicious transaction of $ 1.4 million
A mobile number has been detected in the police investigation, giving instructions to the victims and boat operators of smuggling. Even before this number, many illegal immigrants had been instructed to be sent to America. Relatives of the Chaudhary family in Gujarat told the police that they had paid $ 100,000 to reach the smugglers safely to the US.
