Avadh Ojha, a popular UPSC teacher and motivational speaker joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday, December 2 in the presence of senior leader Manish Sisodia and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal.
Ojha stated that the reason behind him joining the AAP is the similarity in ideology, which emphasizes the importance of education.
Arvind Kejriwal welcomed Ojha into AAP and said, “The country’s renowned teacher Avadh Ojha ji joined the Aam Aadmi Party today. His experience and perspective will give a new direction to our education policy. Inspired by our policies and work on education, he has joined the party. We heartily welcome him into our family. We will work together to fulfill Baba Saheb’s dreams.”
About him
Avadh Pratap Ojha, popularly know as Avadh Ojha is a UPSC tutor. He is also an youtuber and a motivational speaker. Hailing from Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district, Ojha was born on July 3, 1984 and took to teaching at Allahabad coaching centres after he failed to clear the the UPSC exam in his last attempt. He holds a Master of Arts in Hindi Literature, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), a Master of Philosophy (MPhil), a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Hindi Literature, and a Bachelor of Arts in History.
He has also established his own coaching institute, IQRA IAS Academy in Pune in the year 2019. Ojha also holds experience of working with various coaching centres including Vajiram & Ravi, Unacademy and Chanakya IAS academy.
Ojha gained popularity on Youtube because of innovative teaching method during the Covid 19 outbreak. He teachers students geopolitical and contemporary affairs along with historical events. He also has a mobile app and website that offer study materials, live classes, and guidance to UPSC and State Services candidates.
Recent controversy
However, a video of a student bashing Ojha has now gone viral on social media platform. In the video, the student thrashes his style of teaching and says that he is a goon. The post read, “Avadh Ojha is a goon. He doesn’t complete his syllabus, comes to class in innerwear and talks about s*x all the time” Avadh Ojha joined the Kejriwal party today…. A perfect place for such elements…”
