Legendary story related to Tanginath Dham

Lord Rama broke the bow of Shiva during the swayamvar of Sita, daughter of King Janaka in Treta Yuga. After that Mother Sita chose her husband. When Parashurama came to know that Lord Rama had broken the bow of Shiva, he became very angry and immediately reached the swayamvara site. Where Lord Parashurama is warned with Lakshmana. But, during that time, when Parashurama came to know that Lord Shri Ram is also an incarnation of Narayan, he felt very sad. And immediately apologizes to Lord Rama. Soon after, he left the swayamvar and took refuge in a mountain range surrounded by dense forests. Here he established Lord Shiva and started penance, during which he buried his Farsa in the ground.

‘The next part of the trident is still visible above the ground’

According to beliefs, Lord Shiva has a deep connection with this region. According to a legend, when Shani Dev committed the crime, Shivji became angry and threw his trident here. At that time the trident was buried on the top of this hill. Surprisingly, the front of Trishul still appears above the ground, but no one knows how deep it is pressed in the ground. The historical and religious significance of this place is very high, but in the absence of maintenance, this heritage is gradually destroyed.

The carving of the temple is amazing.

According to the information, the ancient temple of Tanginath Dham is now completely destroyed due to lack of maintenance. This temple, once considered the main center of faith and art, has now become ruins. Although the temple is no longer present, the ancient Shivling can still be seen scattered on the hill. The ancient artifacts, carving and architectural style here suggest that this place may be associated with the Devakal or Treta Yuga.
