Plot Summary
The story pf the film is set in ancient Polynesia, where the island of Motunui is slowly dying. The protagonist, Moana, the daughter of Chief Tui, feels a deep connection to the ocean and is chosen by the sea to restore the heart of Te Fiti, a goddess whose heart was stolen by the demigod Maui. This theft caused darkness to spread across the islands. Despite her father’s warnings to stay within the reef, Moana sets out on a courageous voyage across the ocean.
