Telugu Hanuman Jayanti, the auspicious occasion that celebrates the birth of Lord Hanuman, is a deeply revered festival among devotees. Lord Hanuman is worshipped as the son of Mata Anjana and Kesari and is also believed to be the spiritual child of Vayu Deva, the wind god. In North India, the festival is celebrated on the full moon day of Chaitra month. In Tamil, Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on Margashirsha Amavasya; in Kannada, it is celebrated on Margashirsha Shukla Paksha Trayodashi, and in Andhra and in Telangana, Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on the Dashami day of Jyeshtha month. This year, this festival is celebrated on Thursday, May 22, 2025. Some people also believe that they commemorate the day when Lord Hanuman met Lord Ram.

On this auspicious day, devotees should wake up early and take a bath before Sunrise. Clean your home with Gangajal and wear neat and clean clothes. It is best to visit the Lord Hanuman temple on this day to seek blessings. But if you can’t visit the temple, you can worship the deity at home. Prepare an asan and put an orange cloth on it. Place the idol of Lord Hanuman and offer yellow and orange flowers, panchamrit, bhog (kheer, fruits, and dry fruits) and recite Sundarkand and Hanuman Chalisa and finally perform Lord Hanuman Aarti.
