Meerut: Shocking details have emerged in the brutal murder of Saurabh Rajput, a Merchant Navy officer from Uttar Pradesh. The 35-year-old was allegedly killed by his wife, Muskan Rastogi, in collusion with her lover, Sahil Shukla alias Mohit.
In a recent development, police have recovered an audio clip of Muskan recorded after the murder while she was in Shimla. In the WhatsApp voice note sent to her cab driver, she is heard discussing a birthday cake she had ordered for Sahil on March 11. She instructed the driver to avoid calling her and to notify her via text once the cake was ready. Additionally, she directed him to leave the cake in her hotel room, stating that it belonged to him and he would collect it the following morning.
The cab driver later reported the entire incident to the police. As per a reprot by TV9, he also revealed that Muskan and Sahil used to refer to each other as Parvathi and Shankar, respectively. In fact, the cake also had ‘Happy Birthday, Shankar’ mentioned on it.

Chilling Details of the Crime
Following the murder, Muskan and her lover, Sahil, gruesomely dismembered Saurabh’s body into 15 pieces. Muskan fatally stabbed her husband in the chest while he was asleep in their bedroom. After confirming his death, Sahil moved the body to the bathroom, where he severed the limbs. The remains were packed into a plastic drum and sealed with cement to cover up the crime.
In an attempt to avoid suspicion, Muskan traveled to Shimla-Manali for 12 days, sharing photos and videos on Instagram to create the impression of a vacation.
The murder came to light on March 18 when Saurabh’s younger brother, Rahul, visited his house in Indranagar Second, Brahmapuri. He found Rastogi with an unfamiliar man (Sahil) and questioned her about his brother’s whereabouts. Her evasive answers, combined with a foul odor from the house, raised suspicion. Rahul alerted neighbors, leading to a police investigation that exposed the shocking crime. Under interrogation, Muskan and Sahil admitted to the murder.
