Mumbai: The city is all set to welcome the New Year with grand celebrations at its beaches, iconic landmarks, and luxurious restaurants. Marine Drive, known as the “Queen’s Necklace,” is expected to witness massive crowds as thousands of residents and tourists gather to usher in 2025 with enthusiasm.
To ensure seamless travel during the festivities, both Central Railway and Western Railway will operate special suburban train services on the night of December 31, 2024, and early hours of January 1, 2025. These trains will halt at every station on their respective routes for maximum passenger convenience.
Western Railway will operate eight special trains, including four up and four down trains, between Churchgate and Virar. Similarly, Central Railway will operate four special suburban trains, including one pair between CSMT-Kalyan and one pair between CSMT-Panvel.
The special train services aim to provide hassle-free travel for Mumbaikars and tourists celebrating the New Year late into the night. Passengers are advised to check the schedule and plan their journeys accordingly.
Authorities have also urged the public to maintain order and adhere to safety guidelines while traveling. With these arrangements, the city is ready to welcome 2025 with excitement and joy.
