Kolkata: Another Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Deepak Burman on Monday got suspended from Assembly and two BJP MLAs Shankar Ghosh and Manoj Oraon were evicted from the House by Speaker Biman Bandhopadhyay.
The developments started while BJP MLA Hiramnoy Chattopadhyay raised concerns about the functioning of the West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC).
Chattopadhyay also further alleged that the commission did not have the statutory authority to handle complaints to which the Speaker thought that the BJP MLA was speaking out of budget context and then reminded him of his authority and attempted to restrict his speech.
While Chattopadhyay continued to speak on WBPSC, the Speaker had switched off his microphone.
Following this BJP MLAs Shankar Ghosh and Manoj Oraon began chanting slogans and despite several warnings when they continued with their slogans the Speaker had called the marshalls and evicted them from the House.
The BJP chief whip Shankar Ghosh tore papers and threw them inside the House.
After the two BJP MLAs were evicted all the BJP MLAs staged a walkout to protest the move of the Speaker. Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari stated that Speaker Biman Bandhopadhyay is doing ‘goondagiri’ inside the House.
