Weather Update: North India’s mood changed due to heavy rains and stormy winds

Thursday night’s rain and Friday morning thunderstorms changed the mood of the weather not only in the capital Delhi, but the whole of North India.

While people were suffering from scorching heat till yesterday, now the light cold air and the movement of clouds have given relief, but new problems have also come with it.

The rain dropped the temperature down, but as soon as the sun’s rays came out, the sticky and humid heat removed the sweat of the people.

Delhi-NCR roads heavy waterlogging, traffic affected

After the rains, roads in areas like ITO, Laxmi Nagar, Ring Road and Gurugram in the capital became full of water.
outcome? People had to stay stuck in jam for hours.

The traffic looked like a turtle crawling more than the speed.
Due to waterlogging, many two -wheelers were closed and passengers had to push their vehicles on the shore.

Flight divert, air travel also affected

Rain and strong winds did not leave air travels either.
More than 40 flights flying from Delhi Airport were diverted to other cities.
Around 100 flights left late, causing a lot of trouble to the passengers.

In Gorakhpur, so big hail fell that people did not come out of their homes.

This accident was not only frightening, but also shocked the entire village.

Many deaths in UP due to lightning

Incidents of lightning in Gorakhpur and Basti districts proved to be fatal.

The local administration has immediately started relief work and people have been appealed to stay in homes.

Western disturbance became the reason for weather change

The Meteorological Department had already warned that there may be thunderstorms and rains in Delhi, Haryana, and western UP on May 1 and 2.
And the same thing happened!

The entire system was formed due to a western disturbance, which can affect more areas in the next 24 hours.

What next?

According to meteorologists, a new western disturbance will knock in North India again next week.
Due to this, the return of rain and thunderstorms is certain.

People have been advised not to stay in the open, keep mobile charge, and avoid unnecessary travel.
