The Meteorological Department has issued warnings of thunderstorms and heavy rains for the next seven days in 20 states and union territories from Jammu and Kashmir of Eastern India to Odisha, all northeastern states and Kerala. Electricity may also fall in some places. During the last 24 hours also, in all the northeastern states including West Bengal and Sikkim, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar and Eastern Uttar Pradesh, there were strong winds and heavy rains occurred.

According to the Meteorological Department, in the evening, Delhi-NCR suddenly caused black clouds and heavy rains with strong winds. There was a thunderstorm at many places in Noida and Ghaziabad including Burari, Rohini, Badli, Punjabi Bagh, Shahdara, Vivek Vihar, Patel Nagar, ITO and Rajiv Chowk. The speed of vehicles on the roads slowed down. However, there was not much crowd on the roads due to being a holiday. However, people have got relief from the heat due to sudden change in the weather.
